Zoom H4essential – 4-Track 32-Bit Float Portable Audio Recorder

The Zoom H4essential is a portable 4-track recorder with 32-bit float recording at up to 96 kHz, so you can capture clean audio without gain staging during the take. It has dual A/D circuits on the two main inputs for automatic best-quality capture. The built-in X/Y stereo mics handle up to about 130 dB SPL (suitable for loud sources). Two XLR/¼" TRS combo inputs include Zoom preamps and +48 V phantom power; there is also a 3.5 mm mic/line input for lavalier or line sources. A full-colour LCD and built-in mixer let you adjust levels per track; a built-in speaker allows quick playback. The unit works as a USB-C audio interface (4-in/2-out) for computer and mobile, and can record while streaming. It supports SDXC cards up to 1 TB and optional Bluetooth (e.g. BTA-1) for remote control and timecode. Suited for musicians, podcasters, and field recording.
